Cool, Calm and contemporary Kitchen Design with Yellow Detailing

Ditchling, West Sussex

The Brief

Lucy & Arun were renovating their 1930’s detached house in a small village and wanted to create a contemporary kitchen design space with bold colours and design details to sit comfortably alongside their mid-century dining table and dresser. Although they already had the dining area in the space, they also wanted to incorporate an informal table and bench’s for morning coffees and family time. It was also important that their mirrors and pendant lighting with metallic finishes sat comfortably within the space.

The Design

This Diamond Graphite handleless kitchen, paired with sleek Designer White Corian worktops, strikes a perfect balance between boldness and sophistication. The vibrant yellow feature wall and matching glass splashback add a lively touch, infusing the space with a distinct personality that contrasts beautifully with the graphite cabinetry. A standout design element is the copper extractor, which doubles as a statement piece, resembling a stylish pendant light rather than a traditional appliance. This effect is enhanced by the deep tones of the dark walnut parquet flooring, which offers a rich foundation that complements the mid-century furniture, creating a cohesive and visually stunning kitchen environment.

“We cannot recommend The Brighton Kitchen Company enough! We had endless amounts of help from the designer and they took their time to understand what we wanted. The installers were amazing and worked with us and our time schedule. We love our kitchen!”
